Michelle, of WordPress fame, has posted the Daily Prompt as the World’s Best Widget. For photographers she posted the word “Machines”. This gear to operate a small dam on a small steam in a small town in southern Michigan is technically a machine but my mind can’t stop thinking of it as a “do-widget”, a small machine designed to do a big job.
Isn’t it a beauty? And here are the beautiful back-waters behind the dam.
Here is another “do-widget” that is used to switch the direction of trains.
My interpretation of a “do-widget” gives away my age – an age before the real widget was invented.
