Beauty Thru My Lens: Orchids

After seeing orchids growing wild in trees, I decided that maybe I can do it too. My favorite grocery store had these beauties for $20, they had lots of unopened buds, and I have started buying potted plants instead of cut flowers because they last longer and are easier to care for. These have flourished!

Now I am trying to decide if I want to take it north with me for the summer or tie to a tree in my Florida yard to see if it will take. The Naples Botanical Garden has tied several to tries and they are doing well.

  1. One of my neighbours grows orchids. For most of the year, while they are an ugly tangled mess, she leaves them on the shared windowsills. When they flower, she whisks them inside her own flat. I am thinking of hiding one…
