Beauty Thru My Lens – Florida Birds

Tri-Colored Haron

I went to the Venice Rookery yesterday so I have some photos to share. This is one of my favorites.

    • Thanks, Sherry. I practiced using a fast shutter speed to stop action but as a result had a lot of noise. Amazing what can be done with post-editing. 🙂 I can see what is wrong in the raw files but they seem to be looking good when I post them. I appreciate your feedback.

    • It was the light and I did a little with LIghtroom. I don’t feel confident enough to tackle Photoshop – and not ready to spend the money. I love Lightroom. Thanks for visiting and for your comment. I always enjoy hearing from you.

  1. Oh goodness Pat, those birds were so happy to see you with your camera at the Rockery that you got them to pose in the most wonderful of ways. This heron shot with that glorious contrast and side lighting is terrific. And the vertical orientation is perfect with birds like this. Careful now, you might start thinking about those bigger lenses for Christmas 🙂

    • Oh Rick, it was a gorgeous day at the Rookery – and I have a lens in my wish list at B&H, not the $12,000 one. Geez, you can’t expect me to wait until Christmas. I learned a lot about lighting during this shoot, too. Life is so much fun. Thank you so very much for your encouragement and feedback. I really appreciate it.

I'd love to hear your thoughts.
